Whimsical Woodsy Maternity Session

A while back, I had the pleasure of creating a custom maternity session for my gorgeous friend, Kat. Since it was fall, we decided to go with rich tones and a dramatic feel. I selected the material with my mom while she was here from California for a visit, and she helped by sewing the dress, with some help from one of her good friends, Geralyn. I decided that none of my existing headpieces were “fall” enough, so I created two new ones with various twig-like and dried flower materials I purchased from a local craft store. Monique Mclaughlin did an incredible job on hair and makeup, as always. Mama has since had sweet baby Sailor, who is cute as a button.

A Styled Mother & Child Session

It’s not possible to get me too much more excited about a session than when I have a session that has been styled by Rachel Griffith at VERGE. To complete the dream team, Monique McLaughlin was responsible for hair and makeup. To make things even more wonderful, the color palette of soft blushes, peaches, beiges and creams just happens to be my absolute favorite. And last but not least, an amazing private location in Sarasota was offered up. I had so much fun photographing Gretchen and her little ones – I could have stayed hours longer if only little inconveniences like dinner time and the sun setting hadn’t interfered! There is just nothing more magical than the sweet moments between mother and child, and I am so honored to have the opportunity to capture those memories to be cherished for lifetimes.

“The Great Daxby” Wedding – Powel Crosley, Sarasota

There really aren’t words to describe the attention to detail that went into this wedding. Tiffany and Michael were rockstars, and their love – which has survived long distance and military deployments was so beautiful to watch. Their roaring 20’s, Great Gatsby inspired wedding was an event no one in attendeance will soon forget.  Thank you, tiffany, for the honor of being a part of your special night!

Sara’s Portfolio Session in Bradenton

Sara is a student at Manatee School for the Arts in Palmetto, FL and not only is she gorgeous, but she’s extremely talented as well. I have had the pleasure of hearing her sing, and she truly has the voice of an angel. In addition, Sara also dances and acts! We had so much fun shooting, and I can’t wait to do it again when she needs her next portfolio update! Thanks to Monique McLaughlin for an amazing job on hair and makeup, as always!

Anthony and Michael’s Bradenton Session

Recently, I received an email inquiry from a sweet lady interested in family photos. She said that they are a “modern family” with two moms and wanted to be sure I’d be comfortable photographing them. She was unsure because she didn’t see any families like hers on my website. Silly me! I photographed the adorable Anthony and Michael last year, but I am not always the best about updating the blog. My answer was that OF COURSE I’m comfortable and I would love to photograph her family. It’s upsetting that anyone would have to wonder. In light of all that has been going on lately, I am happier than ever to show my support of ALL types of families. Peace and Love!
