Coming Soon – Fully Styled Custom Portrait Sessions!

I am SO EXCITED to announce that very soon, Tara Tomlinson Photography will be offering professionally styled custom portrait sessions available year round. This is something that has been brewing for years, and I have finally found the right person to bring on board as a professional stylist. She will be working with myself and with clients on concept design, set design, wardrobe selection (with an in person wardrobe consultation), and there will be a limited selection of vintage and other wardrobe items available for use as well. There are a few other surprises coming, and I cannot wait to announce who this amazing person is, as well as the other vendors who will be coming on board. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon!

The Beloat Family Beach Session – Longboat Key, Sarasota

From time to time, I like to ask my clients to share their stories. The Beloat family contacted me to shoot family portraits for them while they were vacationing in Sarasota. Bryan, the dad, conveyed that his daughters are now grown and this may be the last family vacation they take as a family of four and he wanted to capture that to remember forever. Working with their family was such a lovely experience from start to finish. and the deep and abiding love between Bryan and Lana was evident. Here is their story from Bryan’s perspective:
“Finding the love of your life is special. Finding the love of your life in high school is even more special. That’s what happened to me when I first saw a beautiful girl named Lana over 32 years ago.
Like any other couple, life-defining events are bound to happen along  our journey. Two of those events happened over 20 years ago with the birth of our two daughters, Sheridan and Alyssa. Both are  the pride and joys of our life. Both are uniquely talented, beautiful and intelligent.
Another life-changing event happened in 2011. One that was not planned. Lana was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 cancer. But after multiple surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, Lana is cancer-free!
I wanted to use our 2014 trip to Longboat Key as a celebration. A celebration of my 50th birthday and a celebration of my wife.  Fortunately, our daughters were able to accompany us on the trip. So, what better way to celebrate than have a family photo session in one of our favorite areas of the world?! The session was a blast!
I had a vision of what I wanted these photos to look like but when I saw the Session Premiere I was both amazed and emotional. Tara had taken my vision to the next level. She is not just a photographer but an artist as well. That day turned out to be one of the most important days our family has had. A event that we can pass down for generations. Thanks, Tara!!!”

Beach Belly Session – Bradenton, Florida

From the first emails I had with Alicia, I knew we would be a perfect fit, and I knew her maternity session would be beautiful. When I read her words, “Anything you suggest is perfect for us. My only vision for the shoot is that it captures intimacy between my husband and I. I want our love to shine through second to the pregnancy” – I was like YES! I can’t wait! I knew we’d be shooting on the beach, but I didn’t know that I would be surprised with the additional gorgeous surroundings. I was practically doing an embarrassing happy dance when I first laid eyes on the beautiful greenery and sparking light canopied entrance. I was so happy with the dream-like, intimate feel that the final images took on. As a photographer, I am also an artist, and part of my process is finding a way to visually communicate the emotions and style that the client wants to express. Alicia’s gorgeous hair and makeup was done by Makeup and Hair by Monique.

Rachel & Ryan’s Sarasota Wedding – Ritz Carlton & Sarasota Opera House

Rachel and Ryan’s wedding can only be described as classic elegance. Rachel got ready at Sarasota’s Ritz Carlton, which is where we captured her bridal portraits and the couple’s First Look. Eri Vincent did a stunning job on Rachel’s makeup. The ceremony and reception were held at The Sarasota Opera House, where So Staged Events and Rentals worked their magic to to create a elegantly romantic atmosphere.
