From time to time, I like to ask my clients to share their stories. The Beloat family contacted me to shoot family portraits for them while they were vacationing in Sarasota. Bryan, the dad, conveyed that his daughters are now grown and this may be the last family vacation they take as a family of four and he wanted to capture that to remember forever. Working with their family was such a lovely experience from start to finish. and the deep and abiding love between Bryan and Lana was evident. Here is their story from Bryan’s perspective:
“Finding the love of your life is special. Finding the love of your life in high school is even more special. That’s what happened to me when I first saw a beautiful girl named Lana over 32 years ago.
Like any other couple, life-defining events are bound to happen along our journey. Two of those events happened over 20 years ago with the birth of our two daughters, Sheridan and Alyssa. Both are the pride and joys of our life. Both are uniquely talented, beautiful and intelligent.
Another life-changing event happened in 2011. One that was not planned. Lana was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 cancer. But after multiple surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, Lana is cancer-free!
I wanted to use our 2014 trip to Longboat Key as a celebration. A celebration of my 50th birthday and a celebration of my wife. Fortunately, our daughters were able to accompany us on the trip. So, what better way to celebrate than have a family photo session in one of our favorite areas of the world?! The session was a blast!
I had a vision of what I wanted these photos to look like but when I saw the Session Premiere I was both amazed and emotional. Tara had taken my vision to the next level. She is not just a photographer but an artist as well. That day turned out to be one of the most important days our family has had. A event that we can pass down for generations. Thanks, Tara!!!”
