Desire & Shawn’s Wedding at Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast

I am so happy to share some of the highlights from Desire and Sean’s wedding at Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast in Palmetto, Florida. This wedding was so much fun for me on so many levels. Not only was the couple sweet as can be, but the wedding party and guests were also a pleasure to work with. On top of all of that, Palmetto Riverside B&B is one of my very favorite venues to shoot weddings, AND the colors were shades of blush- pink and gray. Pink is, of course, my favorite color! A big shout out to Michael Bartley for being a wonderful second shooter – he was truly an asset to have working with me at this wedding, and every other wedding he assist me on!

The Expectant Goddess Session

I know I’ve been teasing these images for The Expectant Goddess,  Cheryl’s gorgeous maternity session for some time now, but it is finally complete and I am so happy. Anyone who knows me or who has watched my work for a while knows how much I love all things feminine, delicate, floral and pink. Every element I love came together for this session and I wanted savor the editing and really be satisfied with the final outcome. I have worried a little that people will get tired of seeing these types of images from me, but I have decided I don’t really care because it’s what makes me (and in this case, my client!) happy. I’m girly and romantic, and I’ll own it! A huge thank you to Cheryl for making this dress, which I now have in my wardrobe collection for use with future clients. Monique McLaughlin was responsible for Cheryl’s incredible curls and flawless makeup. Team work for the win!

Coming Soon – Fully Styled Custom Portrait Sessions!

I am SO EXCITED to announce that very soon, Tara Tomlinson Photography will be offering professionally styled custom portrait sessions available year round. This is something that has been brewing for years, and I have finally found the right person to bring on board as a professional stylist. She will be working with myself and with clients on concept design, set design, wardrobe selection (with an in person wardrobe consultation), and there will be a limited selection of vintage and other wardrobe items available for use as well. There are a few other surprises coming, and I cannot wait to announce who this amazing person is, as well as the other vendors who will be coming on board. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon!

The Beloat Family Beach Session – Longboat Key, Sarasota

From time to time, I like to ask my clients to share their stories. The Beloat family contacted me to shoot family portraits for them while they were vacationing in Sarasota. Bryan, the dad, conveyed that his daughters are now grown and this may be the last family vacation they take as a family of four and he wanted to capture that to remember forever. Working with their family was such a lovely experience from start to finish. and the deep and abiding love between Bryan and Lana was evident. Here is their story from Bryan’s perspective:
“Finding the love of your life is special. Finding the love of your life in high school is even more special. That’s what happened to me when I first saw a beautiful girl named Lana over 32 years ago.
Like any other couple, life-defining events are bound to happen along  our journey. Two of those events happened over 20 years ago with the birth of our two daughters, Sheridan and Alyssa. Both are  the pride and joys of our life. Both are uniquely talented, beautiful and intelligent.
Another life-changing event happened in 2011. One that was not planned. Lana was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 cancer. But after multiple surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, Lana is cancer-free!
I wanted to use our 2014 trip to Longboat Key as a celebration. A celebration of my 50th birthday and a celebration of my wife.  Fortunately, our daughters were able to accompany us on the trip. So, what better way to celebrate than have a family photo session in one of our favorite areas of the world?! The session was a blast!
I had a vision of what I wanted these photos to look like but when I saw the Session Premiere I was both amazed and emotional. Tara had taken my vision to the next level. She is not just a photographer but an artist as well. That day turned out to be one of the most important days our family has had. A event that we can pass down for generations. Thanks, Tara!!!”
