FAQ

Do you shoot destination weddings?

Heck yeah! Many local weddings here in sunny Florida are destination weddings to the couples, but I also travel domestically and internationally. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to travel for weddings + elopements. If you want me there, I will do everything in my power to make it work!

Will there be a second shooter?

Absolutely! All of our 6+ hour weddings include a second photographer. Why? Two angles at the ceremony (and first look if you have one), someone to hang with both partners and their squad while you are getting ready, MORE CANDIDS, someone to capture all the detail photos and cocktail hour while the other does family & couple portraits, the list goes on!

Can I add hours if I think I need more?

Sure thing! Sometimes couples aren't totally sure of their timeline but they want get their dream photographer on lock like RIGHT NOW! No worries - you can add hours later if you need to.

What kind of gear do you use?

A couple of years ago, I gave up my beloved Nikon D850's for a set of Sony A9ii mirrorless cameras. I'm not someone who loves change, especially when it comes to my gear - but let me tell you - this is the best decision I have ever made when it comes to gear! The focusing system is incredible (complete with eye tracking and facial recognition), and the low light capability is just so good. My favorite lenses are: Sony 35mm f/1.4 GM, Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM, Sony 20mm f/1.8, and my 45mm tilt shift. 135mm f/1.8 coming soon!

I shoot with both cameras during weddings. I wear them on a holster so that I have easy access to either my portrait lens or my 35mm lens at all times. Both cameras have dual memory card slots so that your images are being recorded to TWO memory cards at once, That way, if a card is corrupted (rare, but needs to be prepared for!), there's a backup. I got you!

Do I have to order prints through you?

No, but you might want to. All weddings include a Print Release so that you can use any lab you'd like. However, your gallery will also have a shop so that you and your loved ones can order prints and other items directly through my professional lab. I also include coupon codes that are good for the first 30 days after your gallery is delivered, as well as other fun sales throughout the year.

How do I know my images are safe?

There's no worse nightmare for a wedding photographer or a client than the thought of wedding photos being lost. Because I like to sleep at night, I have a system in place to prevent that. First, I shoot with cameras that record to two cards at once. Then, I backup your images to multiple external hard drives. There is a lot of double, triple, and quadruple checking involved in my download process!

Can I have ALL of the RAW/unedited images?

I always try not to say no to clients, but NO. Why? Because I really like you. And because I really like you, I want to help you. I want to give you the best service and experience possible, and an important part of that is image curation. I want to save you from having to see some of the less than flattering images I see (think that Beyoncé concert photo where she looks like some kind of bizarre monstrosity instead of the queen we all know she is). Does this mean you're going to miss out? that I might not deliver images that I'm not crazy about but that might be meaningful to you? NOOOO!!! Seriously, you gotta trust me.I've bene doing this for 10 years - if I can't tell by now what is meaningful and what isn't, we have bigger problems. All you're going to be missing out on is a big old blow to the self esteem, blurry images (it happens!), test shots, family photos where Uncle Ted just COULD NOT manage to look at the camera for more than 2 seconds (don't worry, there will be one were he IS looking), etc.

How many images will we receive?

A lot. :)
Ok, you need more info, I get it. This might sound scary, but I'm going to say it anyway: I don't set a specific number of images to deliver per wedding. Aaaah! But wait, this is a good thing. Why? Because I'm not using a random number as my criteria for image curation and because every wedding is different. There is definitely an average number of delivered images, however - approximately 80 images per hour of coverage (so, about 500-800+ images).

I really like natural looking photos, but I'm awkward in front of the camera. Help!

Ok, so this is where I say I GOT YOU again, but I'm shouting it. I will never just leave you hanging, telling you to "just go do your thing over there" while you stare blankly at each other, sweating profusely from nerves. You're going to laugh, you might even cry (but in a good way), you're going to feel like professional models (but really natural looking ones) by the end of our time shooting. I use prompts to help you create authentic moments of connection. I also tell you to stick your chin out and down or relax your fingers if I need to. It's all in the details, and I want you to look your best in your photos!

What if you get run over by a car right before our wedding or come down with a stomach bug and contract a flesh eating virus?

Don't lie, I know you've had basically that exact same thought every time you think about signing on the dotted line with a photographer. It's cool, I totally get it because I have those same thoughts sometimes when I'm awake at 3 am caught in an anxiety loop. ;)
But really, that's about the extreme nature of what it would take for me to miss your wedding. Lucky for you (and me!), there is built in protection for all 6+ hour weddings. Since a second photographer is already scheduled to be at your wedding, you never have to worry about being left high and dry. Of course, we will also provide a replacement so that there are still two. The really SUPER AWESOME thing about this is that my second photographers have been with me for 10 years and are 100% capable of photographing weddings on their own as lead photographers. They know my style, how I work, my standards, and all the planners who know me know them too. For elopements and intimate weddings, my go to replacements would still be my second photographers, and beyond that, I have a large but tight knit community of talented photographers to call on if unexpected tragedy or extreme illness strikes.
