A Wedding in the Woods

Nestled in the picturesque woods of Fryeburg, Maine, Hagere and Sam celebrated their wedding at Hardy Farm, a venue that seamlessly blends the rustic charm of Maine with the elegance of a classic New England wedding.

This location holds special significance for Sam, who spent his childhood exploring the forests and fields of Maine, making it the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love and memories.

Choosing a Meaningful Location

Hagere, originally from Ethiopia and now living in Washington DC, brings a vibrant cultural richness to this union. Her journey to this moment started thousands of miles away, yet fate brought her to Sam through a mutual friend. From the moment they met, their connection was undeniable, and their love blossomed amidst the fast-paced life of the nation’s capital. However, it was here in the quiet woods of Maine where they chose to begin their forever.

Sam, with his deep ties to the Maine landscape, brought a sense of calm and familiarity to the celebration. His childhood memories of the area added layers of sentiment to every detail, from the towering pines surrounding the ceremony to the soft whisper of the breeze through the trees. For Sam, the wedding wasn’t just a celebration of love, but a homecoming, and sharing that with Hagere made it all the more special.

The ceremony itself took place outdoors, framed by the natural beauty of Hardy Farm’s surrounding woods. The simplicity of the environment enhanced the couple’s deeply personal vows, which reflected their journey, the merging of their cultures, and their shared values. Hagere’s family, who had traveled from Ethiopia, added a heartwarming presence, bringing together two worlds in one magical setting. There were moments that felt like time stood still—the quiet smiles exchanged, the tears wiped away by loved ones, and the light filtering through the trees as Hagere and Sam walked hand in hand down the aisle. It was clear that this was not just a wedding, but a union of families, cultures, and hearts.

As a wedding photographer, moments like these are pure magic. From the intimate glances exchanged during the vows to the spontaneous bursts of joy during the reception, every moment was filled with genuine emotion. It was an honor to capture Hagere and Sam’s love story, one that bridges continents but is grounded in the simple, timeless beauty of Maine’s woods.

For Hagere and Sam, their wedding was a celebration of love, family, and place—a testament to the power of connection, both to the land and to each other. Hardy Farm provided the perfect setting for their love to take root, and I am beyond grateful to have been part of their story.
