Roger + Tony
I first met Roger when he relocated to Sarasota from Miami about a decade ago. I was a new photographer building my portfolio, and Roger needed creative shots for the new floral business he was starting in downtown Sarasota - conveniently right across from where I would soon open a studio. We really connected and had so much fun working together. We kept in touch through the years, and I was absolutely thrilled and so honored when he asked me to photograph his wedding to the talented and handsome Tony. Their wedding was a mix of everything wonderful - emotional, glamorous, fashionable. fun, creative. Marie Selby Botanical Garden in Sarasota, FL, provided the perfect backdrop for the event. It was a chilly winter day, and Selby still had their lights up throughout the garden from their annual holiday lights event. It was fun to us the rainbow light tunnel for some portraits in celebration of LGBTQ marriage equality.
One of the most unique features of the wedding was the evening after dark ceremony, which was set up in a circular formation with the couple at the center, and fairy lights draping out and down around them. The foos was incredible, as it always is at Selby who partners with Michael's on East, one of Sarasota's best locally owned fine dining restaurants and caterer. Tony happens to be a professional dancer, so the reception was a blast - so much great energy and the best salsa dancing I've seen at a wedding! Being a part of precious days like this is what makes my job so special.
